Sell Gold in Peoria
Sell gold, silver, coins and estate jewelry in the West Valley - free appraisal, no appointment.
Our Peoria shop is at 8360 W Thunderbird Rd, C103, just off the Loop 101. Nothing has to be sorted, catalogued or cleaned before you arrive - cleaning in particular is the one thing we would ask you not to do, because on a collectible coin it removes value that does not come back.

The detail, if you want it
What usually arrives in a West Valley clear-out
A household box almost never holds one clean category. A typical one contains some combination of:
- Loose silver coins from before 1965, mixed in with modern change worth face value and nothing more
- Gold jewelry - some broken, some unmatched, some not gold at all despite what the stamp says
- A few bullion rounds or bars bought years apart and now hard to identify
- Proof sets and commemoratives from a mail-order mint, which sit in a different market from the coins collectors look for
- One or two genuinely scarce coins hidden among the rest
Those last two lines are why a mixed lot should not be sold by weight. Separating the collectible material from the scrap is the part of the visit that changes the number, and it costs nothing.
How jewelry, silverware and scrap are priced
Brand, condition and design are not what we are paying for. Purity, weight and the market price of the metal are, which makes this a measurement rather than an opinion.
X-ray fluorescence analysis reads the metal type and the percentage of each metal in every piece. We weigh the items in front of you, on government certified scales, and use the spot price of gold, silver or platinum at that moment. A few items take five to ten minutes start to finish, and we explain each step as we go.
Where one test is not conclusive on its own, specific gravity, ultrasonic and acid testing are also available. What each test does and what it costs.
Free appraisal versus a written valuation
When you come in to sell, the appraisal costs nothing. We tell you what is in the lot, what we would pay and how we got there, and you decide.
A written appraisal for an insurer, an executor or a probate filing is a separate paid service. It is a formal document prepared for a third party to rely on, which is different work from quoting a buying price. What has to be in a written appraisal.
If what you need is documentation of the metal composition itself rather than a valuation, that is priced per item on the assaying page.
Identification and how you are paid
Arizona's precious metals dealer statute covers jewelry, silverware and scrap. Under A.R.S. § 44-1602 we record your name, address, date of birth and signature against valid photo identification, pay by check only, made out to the actual seller, and hold the items unaltered for ten calendar days. Dealers also file weekly purchase lists with local law enforcement.
None of that is shop policy. It is the law in this state, and a dealer who offers to skip any of it is telling you something about how they operate.
Coins and bullion are excluded from that definition and handled differently. We will say which rule applies to your items before you commit to anything. Why an Arizona shop asks for ID and pays by check.
Estates, probate and executors
We work with probate attorneys, estate lawyers and executors on the valuation or liquidation of items containing precious metals. Jewelry and silverware are often easier for an estate to liquidate than to divide between beneficiaries, though plenty of the valuations we do are for items the family intends to keep.
Turnaround is usually one to three days, depending on how many items there are and which service is needed. The method does not change - XRF on each piece, weighed on certified scales, priced against the market at the time of the valuation.

Coming from Glendale, Surprise, Sun City or Goodyear
Thunderbird Road and the Loop 101 put the Peoria shop within a short drive of most of the West Valley. If you are weighing up the trip, these cover the ground:
- Buying and selling coins in Surprise, Sun City and Goodyear - includes the Arizona sales tax exemption with the statute quoted
- Selling gold and silver in Glendale
- When an in-person dealer beats an online marketplace
Common questions about selling gold in Peoria
Should I clean or sort my coins before I bring them in?
No. Cleaning a collectible coin can permanently remove a large part of its value, and sorting is work we do with you at no charge. Bring it as it is.
Do you buy scrap gold and broken jewelry, or does it have to be whole?
Broken is fine. Single earrings, snapped chains, unmatched pieces and silver flatware are bought on metal content, the same as whole items.
What happens if some of my coins are worth more than their metal?
We separate those out and price them as collectibles rather than as scrap. Telling the difference is the main reason a mixed lot should not be sold by weight.
Can I get a price without committing to sell?
Yes. The appraisal is free and there is no obligation. People often come in to find out what something is before deciding anything.
How will I be paid?
For jewelry, silverware and scrap metal, Arizona law requires payment by check made out to the named seller. Coins and bullion fall outside that part of the statute. We will tell you which applies before you agree to anything.
